Ready for Puppy is a participant in the Amazon EU Associates Programme, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.co.uk.
Other affiliate programmes
I also take part in affiliate programmes run through networks such as Awin, and in programmes run directly by individual brands. The same rule applies to all of them: the commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not out of your pocket.
How you can tell
Every affiliate link on this site carries the sponsored attribute and a small ad
badge, and every page containing affiliate links shows a notice at the top, before the
content. You should never have to guess.
What the money does and does not buy
It does not buy a recommendation. No brand pays to appear here, to rank higher in a comparison, or to be described favourably. Where a product is poor value, the page says so — including where that product would have paid the highest commission.
It does not change the order of a comparison. Products are ranked on fit, build, price and suitability. Commission rate is not a factor and never has been.
It does pay for the site. Hosting, the domain, and the time this takes.
Where a product came to me free
If a brand ever sends me a product at no charge, the page about that product will say so clearly, at the top, in the same place as the affiliate notice. This has not happened yet. If it does, you will know.
